RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METRES TO 1400 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE FROM 800 METRES. THEREAFTER 7 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE
On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge BLUE JET in the 5th race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (34) – THE JUST BY CHANCE PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
PRINCE IGOR (App. N. Bhosale, dr.1) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, FAY (T. S. Jodha, dr.3) jumped and carried WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Pranil, dr.2) inwards.
At the start MEADOW SPRINGS (App. Haridas Gore, dr. 8 ) jumped and carried BALENO (Bhawani Singh, dr. 7) inwards who went across SOUTH BEACH(N.S. Parmar, dr.6 ) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 800 metres, BALENO (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have maintained an erratic course thereby bumping PRINCE IGOR (App. N. Bhosale) on more than one occasion. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.
Passing the 300 metres HOLA AMIGO (App. Avinash Paswan ) leaned in into SOUTH BEACH (N. S. Parmar), thereafter SOUTH BEACH (N.S.Parmar) shifted out thereby bumping HOLA AMIGO (App. Avinash Paswan) who in turn shifted out and carried PRINCE IGOR (App. N. Bhosale) outwards. Both Jockey N. S. Parmar and App. Avinash Paswan have been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
DASHING CHERI was trotted at the stables and found to be sound and was observed to have an injury on its right fore fetlock.
FAY was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
TRAIL BLAZER was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock and was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
RACE NO.2 (35) – THE EAU DE VIE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
At the start, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (App. S. Siddharth, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with AZURE (Akshay Kumar, dr.4).
At the start, YOUR UNFORGETTABLE (Vivek G., dr.1) jumped out awkwardly thereby losing about a length.
Passing the 600 metres AZURE (Akshay Kumar ) shifted in and went across MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (S.Siddharth ) causing the latter to be steadied . After the race on questioning, Jockey Askhay Kumar (AZURE) stated that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
In the final stages of the race, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (App S. Siddharth) drifted in under pressure thereby carrying AZURE (Akshay Kumar) inwards, App S.Siddharth has been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
CELLINI was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (36) – THE ALBERTINI PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
On arrival at the starting gates, OLD FASHIONED (P. Trevor dr.5) was fractious and bolted off, subsequently the gelding was apprehended at the 2000 metres marker and with the consent of Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha the colt was permitted to race. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to school his charge to reach the starting gate in a timely manner.
At the start, ACROPOLIS (App. Kristish Bhagat, dr.1) whipped around , dislodged its rider thereby taking no practical part in the race. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
At the start ANTINO (A.Sandesh,dr 2) jumped outwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which HERMANUS (Yash Narredu,dr.3) , DAREDEVIL (S.J.Sunil, dr.4) and OLD FASHIONED (P.Trevor, dr.5) veered out and had to be steadied.
After the race, the Jockeys reported the following:
Jockey P. Trevor (OLD FASHIONED) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
Jockey A. Sandesh (ANTINO) reported that his mount was shying away from the railing and running green throughout the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been ask to take remedial measures, charge before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
OLD FASHIONED was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (37) – THE MAGANSINGH P. JODHA TROPHY - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
After being stalled, GONZALO (Antony Raj S., dr.2) was fractious and played up. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, CHILTON HOUSE (Akshay Kumar, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby forcing REMARKABLE (Yash Narredu, dr.4) inwards at the same time GONZALO (Antony Raj S., dr.2) jumped outwards onto SIXTY FOUR SQUARES (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3), thereafter REMARKABLE (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across GONZALO (Anthony Raj S) and SIXTY FOUR SQUARES (Neeraj Rawal ) and carried SHIVALIK SUPERSTAR (N. B. Kuldeep) inwards ,causing the latter to be steadied .
Passing the 300 metres REMARKABLE (Yash Narrdedu ) leaned in under pressure onto CHILTON HOUSE (Akshay Kumar) who further shifted in thereby tightening LOYAL LOVER (P.Trevor) racing along the rails , causing the latter to be checked , Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
REMARKABLE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such, the colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
LOYAL LOVER was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.5 (38) – THE MOOSA M. HOOSEIN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
EL MORAN (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.3) was fractious and reluctant to go to the starting gates despite substantial efforts thereby causing a considerable delay in the start of the race. As such, the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the starters order and Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to school his charge to reach the starting gate in timely manner.
At the start, STORM CLOUD (Dashrath Singh, dr.10) was fractious thereby not allowing its rider to settle. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 1000 metres DARCY (C. Umesh) shifted in and went across LIAM (T.S.Jodha ) causing the latter to be steadied , Jockey C.Umesh has been cautioned.
DESTROYER (D. A. Naik) was observed to be inclined outwards in the straight despite the riders efforts, as such Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
DESTROYER was trotted and found to be sound.
BLUE JET was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock and on its left hind above fetlock.
WIND DANCER was observed to have a gum injury.
DARCY was observed to have injuries on both its hind fetlocks.
ZAYYAN was trotted and found to be sound.
STARLIGHT SERENADE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (39) – THE LUCKY LUCIANO TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
At the start , TEMPEST (App.Aditya Waydande , dr 5) jumped out throwing its head up and made contact with SPORTING ALICE (K.Nazil ,dr 6 )
Soon after the start TEMPEST (App. Aditya Waydande ) shifted in at the same time RIZZ (App. Ramswarup) shifted out thereby tightening SWEET TOWN (Neeraj Rawal) for room causing the latter to be checked, as such App. Aditya Waydande and App Ramswarup have been cautioned.
Passing the 600 metres,TRANQUILA (K.Pranil) leaned in thereby carrying RIZZ
(App Ramswarup) inwards , Jockey K.Pranil
has been cautioned
Passing the 150 metres, GOLDEN AXL (App S. Siddharth) shifted in and went across TEMPEST (App. Aditya Waydande) causing the latter t be steadied. App S Siddhart has been cautioned
In the final stages of the race, PALOMA (Yash Narredu ) drifted in under pressure thereby carrying RIZZ( App Ramswarup) inwards. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.
Jockey Shrikant Kamble (FAIR DAME) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
RIZZ was observed to have an injury on its left hind cannon.
SWEET TOWN was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7 (40) – TEENA KATRAK MEMORIAL INDEPENDENCE MILLION: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS – 14
On a request from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, LA DOLCE VITA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 08:00 a.m. on 14th August 2026 at the stables and was found to be tied up and sore by right hind. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race, withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the start, AZELIA (App. S. Siddharth, dr.10) jumped, whipped around and dislodged its rider thereby taking no practical part in the race, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show it to the satisfaction of the starter in a mock race, before next accepting to race.
At the start, LITTLE JOHN (Anthony Raj S, dr. 3) jumped out awkwardly
At the start ANGE RAPHAEL (Ramswarup, dr. 11) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied.
Passing the 500 metres BRASILIER (T. S. Jodha) leaned onto MERCHANT OF VENICE (R. Ajinkya) thereby bumping and forcing CHARISSE (Vivek G.) causing both horses to be tightened and checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey T. S. Jodha has been fined Rs 3,000/-.
ALLEZ L’ETOILE (P. Trevor) was observed to be inclined outwards in the straight, despite the rider’s efforts. After the race, the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
MERCHANT OF VENICE & CHARISSE were trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
MAGICAL STAR was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.8 (41) – THE MAGANSINGH P. JODHA TROPHY - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
BAILLEE (Antony Raj S., dr.3) ducked the front gates. As such, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 800 metres, THE OLIVE CROWN (A. Sandesh) leaned in thereby tightening ALPHA STRIKE (P. Trevor) for room causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (VICTORY FLAIR) reported the loss of his whip passing the 50 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune meeting 2026, no action has been initiated.
After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (BAILEE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
DAVID was observed to have an injury on its right fore fetlock and on its left hind fetlock.
THE OLIVE CROWN was trotted and found to be sound.
REAL GOLD was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.
RACE NO.9 (42) – THE JUST BY CHANCE PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, IMPULSIVE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10.30 a.m. on 15th August 2026 at the stables and was found to be tied up. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race, withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
RUNNING AWAY (App. Vishal, dr.10) was reluctant to be stalled thereafter jumped out slowly thereby losing about four lengths at the start. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race
In the final stages of the race, GOLD BAR (App. Ramswarup) shifted in under pressure thereby inconveniencing BRAVO ZULU (C. Umesh) racing on its haunches causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs 2,000/-.
BRAVO ZULU was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th & 9th race, viz. FOXY, ANTINO, REMARKABLE, ALLEZ L’ETOILE, REAL GOLD, GOLD BAR and the special samples of ZAYYAN (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: MORNING TRACKWORK HELD ON 9TH AUGUST 2026:
GOLDEN DEGREE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
RE: MERCY PETETION LOPDGED BY JOCKEY S.G.PRASAD IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENCE FOR 6 RACE DAYS DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2026 - UNSATISFACTORY RIDING ON HIS MOUNT SHIRSA IN RACE NO. 136 – THE J.V. SHUKLA – ASHWAMITRA PLATE (DIST. 1400 METRES) (DRAWN 6) RUN ON 26TH FEBRUARY 2026 AT THE MUMBAI RACE COURSE
The Board of Appeal after hearing the submissions made by Jockey S.G.Prasad and his spokesperson Mr. S. Kapoor, decided to convert the remaining two race days of his punishment into a suspended sentence and the suspended sentence would come into force should he be found guilty of unsatisfactory riding at any time up to the end of the Pune Meeting 2027.
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “ENCINO” (DRAWN 03) RUN IN RACE NO. 31. THE YOHAN .Z.POONAWALLA TURF CLUB TROPHY GRADE III DIST. 1400 MTRS ON SATURDAY, 8TH AUGUST 2026.
In this connection, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey A.Sandesh . In that, it was noted that he had ridden an over confident race which may have cost him the race. Therefore, keeping the above in mind , it has been decided to suspend his Jockeys licence for two race days i.e. on 6th and 12th September 2026 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for riding an overconfident race. Further, Jockey A. Sandesh been severely cautioned for his unprofessional behavior/statement.
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “DIEGO GARCIA” (DRAWN 2) RUN IN RACE NO.137 - THE AZIZ H. AHMEDBHOY TROPHY (DIST. 2400 MTRS) RUN ON 7TH MARCH 2026:
In this connection the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Yash Narredu. In that, it was noted that he had failed to preserve his mount in the early part of the race and the same was contrary to its established running pattern thereby placing his mount at a disadvantage. Therefore, it was decided to fine Jockey Yash Narredu a sum of Rs.10,000/- for riding an ill-judged race.
